Our Love Story
How We Met
Our story began online in May 2021. The first time I saw her picture, her smile caught my heart in an instant. There was something genuine and captivating about her. Dorcas would often go off the app for weeks, yet I found myself patiently waiting for her return, just so I could finally ask for her WhatsApp number (lol). When we eventually moved our conversations there, everything began to flow effortlessly. I was fascinated by this Warri girl who, to my surprise, didn’t even speak pidgin fluently (lol). What started as casual chats soon grew into heartfelt conversations, laughter, and connection. Today, that spark has become a flame that lights our journey of love, one that has beautifully led us to this very moment❤️
The First Date
Our first date will always hold a special place in my heart. It was at Chicken Republic, FUTA Junction. We almost didn’t make it, her call to the FUTASU Bar took longer than we expected, and just when I thought the evening might slip away, the rain began to fall. But as if the heavens knew how much that day meant, it stopped just in time for us to meet. Seeing her in person for the first time felt surreal. Her smile was even more radiant, her laughter softer and warmer. We shared a meal, made a few jokes, and time seemed to pause, just For Us🥰 When it was time to head back, she looked at me and said, “Let’s take a stroll to RCF Junction and enjoy the evening.” That simple walk became one of my favorite memories. The soft breeze, the sound of our laughter, and the comfort of her presence, it all felt like home. As she waited to board her bike that Sunday evening, I found myself hoping I’d see her again soon… and I did. That night, without even realizing it, I had fallen for her❤️
The Proposal
It was one of those moments that etches itself into your soul forever. I had gotten my baby a lovely outfit, simple, sweet, something I knew would make her smile. But tucked inside that small gift was something far more precious than fabric or style. From our very first month together, I’d been playfully teasing her about her bride price. Every now and then I’d smile and ask, “So… how much is your bride price again?” And at least six different times, I found one stylish way or another to ask if she would marry me, laughing on the outside, but secretly hoping she could hear the sincerity beating in my chest. So when she opened the outfit that day and the ring slipped out, falling softly to the floor like a secret finally ready to reveal itself, my heart froze for a moment. I picked it up gently, looked into her eyes, and in that quiet, magical breath between us, I finally asked her… truly asked her… to please marry me. The way her face lit up, the way her smile melted into a joyful “YES” 🥰 I’ll never forget it. Time stood still. It felt like every laughter-filled moment, every shared secret, every spark of love between us had been guiding us to that exact second. To forever, my love. 🥂❤️
